You know that thing sitting in your house that you’re convinced “nobody would ever buy”?
Yeah. Someone probably sold something weirder.
I recently fell down a Vinted rabbit hole scrolling through “Sold” listings and honestly… some of you are absolute geniuses. The variety of items that have actually sold is eye-opening.
I’m constantly adding to this list as I spot more weird and wonderful ‘Sold’ listings on Vinted — so bookmark this page.
If these items can sell, you officially have no excuses left to not get your stuff listed on Vinted.

Why This Matters for You as a Vinted Seller
This isn’t just for entertainment.
It proves:
- There is a buyer for almost everything
- Niche markets are powerful
- Imperfect doesn’t mean worthless
- Packaging and nostalgia have value
- Replacement parts are in demand
Most people don’t struggle on Vinted because their items are “bad”. They struggle because they overthink, under-list, or give up too quickly.

Empty Packaging That Sold
Selling empty packaging sounds ridiculous until you understand the psychology behind it.
Original tech boxes, designer dust bags and branded packaging increase resale value for other sellers. Some buyers want full boxed sets. Others want authentic packaging for gifting.
Before you throw away a branded box, check sold listings first.

These empty jewellery gift boxes sold for £1.50 – better than binning them!

This empty tin was listed for £10!

This empty (empty!!!!) Jo Malone candle was listed for £30! No idea what it went for in the end, but that is insane to me.

Another empty jar listed for £35.

Empty shopping bags for anything from £1…

To £15!
If you’re unsure what kind of items tend to perform well overall, see my guide on the best things to sell on Vinted.
Single Items That Somehow Found a Buyer
Single shoes. One earring. One AirPod. A lone glove.

Even single shoes are selling on Vinted!
It sounds mad — until you realise someone, somewhere, has lost the other half.
There’s a genuine micro-market for replacement singles. What looks incomplete to you might be exactly what someone is searching for.

This one single earring sold for £1.50

And this one for £3.

Broken Items That Still Made Money
Broken electronics. Faulty straighteners. Non-working consoles.
People buy for parts. Some repair and flip. Others enjoy fixing things as a hobby.
The key is honesty in your description — but don’t assume damage equals zero value.

This smashed up, locked iPhone 11 pro was listed for £22.

This broken Apple watch with no strap was listed for £15 and has sold.

Replacement Parts You’d Normally Bin
Spare fridge drawers. Remote controls. Replacement lids. Instruction manuals.
When something breaks at home, many people look for the exact missing part rather than replacing the whole item.
And guess where they search? Vinted.

Nostalgia and Collectibles
Old catalogues. Vintage carrier bags. Discontinued toys. Magazine freebies. Old mobile phones.
Nostalgia sells. Always.
What feels like rubbish to you might be someone’s childhood memory.

This old Nokia mobile phone was listed for £12 WITH a missing on/off button.
Collectors exist for almost everything — and they’re actively searching.
“Surely Not…” Items
These are the listings that make you pause.
The ones that make you think, “Honestly, who is buying this?”
And yet… sold.
The truth is, Vinted isn’t just for clothes anymore. It’s a huge second-hand marketplace full of niche buyers.

A great example is these empty loo rolls – someone took the time to save 70 of them, photograph and list them for £2, but even weirder…they sold!

Why Weird Things Sell on Vinted
Let’s break it down properly.
People buy on Vinted because:
- They want cheaper alternatives
- They’re replacing something specific
- They’re collecting
- They’re nostalgic
- They’re upcycling
- They’re flipping for profit
Your “random” item might solve someone’s very specific problem.
If you’re looking to turn this into a proper side hustle, here’s where to get stock for Vinted consistently.
