weekend jobs

Sometimes it's hard to make ends meet. You work hard during the week but life happens and you need to find extra income from somewhere. Many of us work Monday to Friday and enjoy weekends relaxing. However, if you need to make some extra money, utilising that time off your main job to do extra work could be a great way to get the cash you need. Even in the short term. Let's have a look at some weekend jobs which could help you to pay the bills.

Coffee Shop Worker

Working in a coffee shop is first on the list of our weekend jobs ideas. Many people use their weekends to meet up with friends over a coffee or grab a takeout latte as part of their weekend activities. With that in mind, coffee shops and cafes will be looking for weekend staff to deal with the extra customers and cover shifts. You might even be able to train to become a fully fledged barista. A skill you'll have forever but one which will also allow you to change jobs full time, should you wish.

Weekend Sales Person

There are many sales people who only work during the week, however places that sell things directly to customers are open on weekends too. That means that they will need to hire people for weekend jobs. Whether it's a car showroom, a tech shop or maybe even a job for charity, these jobs are important for the business. A lot of sales are done at the weekend as many people work during the week and buy things at the weekend. You could be there as a stand up sales person, helping people get what they need or do in-store demos to build trust and establish a connection with your customers.

Cleaner

Lots of businesses close their offices at the weekend but this is the perfect time for them to be cleaned. Weekend jobs based around cleaning are fantastic, especially if you like a bit of you time as you run a vacuum cleaner around, wipe down surfaces and dust board rooms. You might be able to get cleaning jobs on a self employed basis too. Lots of elderly people like having a cleaner for a couple of hours a week to help with their housekeeping, as well as offering a bit of conversation and company.

Whilst business contact centres are usually open during the week, most are also opening for limited hours at the weekend. You'll even find companies that run 24/7 customer call centres and those phones need answering. You might even be able to do this from home, by logging into a central system via broadband. You could be answering customer calls about returns and dealing with complaints over text chat.

Working In Retail

There are lots of shops open on the high street and in retail parks every weekend. Lots of customers enjoy a walk around, window shopping and spending what they've earned during the week. These shops need people and that's where weekend jobs. Manning tills, organising displays and stacking shelves. If you like it quiet, maybe a supermarket night shift is ideal for you.
