Do you fancy a spa day but don't have the cash to splash out right now? Fear not, we've got you covered. In this post we're going to look at some spa day ideas that you can do right at home. Turn your wonderful home into a little slice of tranquillity. Relax, unwind and enjoy some fantastic spa fun!

Relaxing Music

Spa days can be so relaxing and one of the ways to encourage that relaxation is some wonderful music. We all relax to different genres of music so you might stick your favourite album or podcast on. However you can easily find playlists on the likes of Spotify or YouTube full of music you'd hear at a day spa.

Nature sounds, atmospheric and ambient, background instrumental music. You'll find yourself unwinding with every song or piece of music.

Oils, Lotions & Other Products

Next up is getting the products you want to enjoy on your spa day at home. These could include foot creams, face masks, bubble bath, massage oil and much more! You might fancy painting your nails or giving yourself a body wrap. Spa days are very personal and we all enjoy different treatments. Some might hate their feet being touched so foot cream is pointless for them. Others may feel amazing after a face mask, so you can relax with one of them, maybe adding slices of cucumber on your eyes. You might have plenty of these products in the bathroom cabinet, that you received as birthday presents or Christmas gifts. You might even have a basket of mini hotel toiletries from the last time you stayed over somewhere. If you are doing your own DIY spa day at home as a couple, you might want some massage oil so you can give one another a rub down.

Bubbles & Snacks

Spa days aren't just about treatments. Indulging in some wonderful food and drink is also a great part of the experience. If you're doing your weekly food shop, or perhaps are ordering an online delivery, add some treats to your list. This could be your favourite sweets, some fresh fruit like strawberries and blueberries and maybe even a bottle of Prosecco. Plate up your snacks, pour your bubbles and enjoy the wonderful taste as you relax on your spa day.

A Good Book

Is there anything better than getting lost in a good book? If you've got a stack of books on your bedside table that you're yet to work through, this is the perfect opportunity. Pull a sun lounger out of the shed, place it in the perfect part of the garden that receives the most sunshine and get reading. You'll find yourself immersed in the story, characters and twists and turns of the plot. You could even run a bath and relax in the warm water as you read. A great way to unwind on a spa day!

Hire A Hot Tub

Many people love going to a hotel spa day for the relaxation of the hot tub. Did you know that you can hire hot tubs for the weekend? There are companies out there who will bring a hot tub, set it up and show you how to work it. Then when you're finished with it, they'll collect it. This can be a great way to enjoy a spa day at home with no restrictions. You can enjoy the hot tub part for as long as you like. You'll have to pay for it, but for as little as £23 a day, it is much more affordable than booking a spa day at a hotel.

If this sounds like the perfect way to unwind, what are you waiting for? Pencil a date in your diary when you're going to enjoy your DIY spa day at home and you'll be enjoying unwinding before you know it. Happy relaxing!
