Do you wish you could travel more? Many of us do. Maybe you have other commitments that you can't say no to, which perhaps restrict your ability to go travelling as often as you wish. The occasional day trip here and there are fantastic. As is an annual vacation. However many of us want to get out of the same four walls and hit the open road. With more of us having the ability to work from home, why stick to home? If you can do your job remotely from home, you can probably do it from anywhere. With that in mind, let's have a look at working from an affordable campervan. You could be travelling the length and breadth of the country, enjoying seeing the sites and experiencing the culture, which checking into work every now and again.

Get Your Wheels

There are lots of campervans out there, we see many of them on the roads every time we go out. Different sizes, different models, different decals on the sides. Some of them cost tens of thousands of pounds. However you don't have to spend a lot of money to get something roadworthy and reliable. As long as it is mechanically sound, you can make it look good on the inside by putting your own personal stamp on things. Take a look on eBay or Facebook Marketplace to find vans that people are selling. You'll discover affordable campervan options including Fiats, Mazdas and Renaults. Maybe a retro Talbot is more up your street. Maybe you'll find a delivery van that you could turn into a campervan yourself. The options are endless but when you get your wheels you are one step closer to working on the road.

Somewhere To Work From

With your wheels secured, you need to ensure that your affordable campervan gives you somewhere to work from. This could be a table in the van with a power socket for your laptop. Maybe a comfortable chair that you can set up outside of the van in good weather and enjoy the breeze from a lake as you tap away on your tablet. Having the van is the first stop but you need to have a decent set up or workstation that you can log in from.

A Wi-Fi Connection

There are many campsites that offer free Wi-Fi, most of them having a decent connection that you can connect to all over the park. However sometimes you'll want to park up alongside a tarn or by the side of a mountain and want to check those emails. A decent Wi-Fi connection is important if you need to log in occasionally and check documents. Invest in an internet dongle that you can connect to on those occasions. Mobile broadband allows you might be possible from your smartphone too, if you set up a hotspot.

A Work Life Balance

An affordable campervan can give you the joy of exploration and adventure alongside the focus on your work away from distractions of home. This is perhaps a work life balance that we can all work towards. We don't have to be aware for weeks on end, but an affordable campervan allows you to get out of your bubble and enjoy the great outdoors. Imagine the focus that you can get from being in a different place. The ideas you can get from your mind and body being stimulated by incredible views and wonderful sights. Becoming a digital nomad could be the perfect way to work.

No more commuting to the office. No more waiting to get home to enjoy something exciting. When you close that laptop, you can jump into that lake and enjoy a swim. You can connect to your inbox when you have finished driving for the day and send emails, knowing you won't get a reply because the recipient isn't going to be logged on. Find a work life balance that works for you by investing in an affordable campervan.
