I am extremely blessed that I can now call blogging my full time job. You may be wondering how to make money on a blog. There are always ways to make money from your blog, and perhaps ways that you had never considered before.
Making money from blogging might seem like the dream to many of us, but after thinking about sponsored posts, adverts and affiliate marketing, we might have run out of ideas. Here are 5 ways to make money from your blog that you might not have thought of.
1 – Write an e-book
Writing an e-book might seem like a daunting task, but it can be a great creative challenge that also helps you to earn a passive income for years to come. Publishing your e-book on Kindle with Amazon is really simple – I managed to get my own book published quickly by following some fantastic guides online. I chose a topic that I knew a lot about (iPhone apps to earn cash from) and set to writing. Once I had written the main content it was easy enough to format using the Kindle guidelines, hire a proof reader and then upload. I have now been earning a great passive income from my book!
2 – Sell your skills
I have been on both sides of this – both offering my skills for hire and now even hiring someone to help me out. If you are blogging then you will most likely be running social media accounts alongside this – these are skills that lots of businesses and other bloggers are crying out for. You can set yourself up on People Per Hour as a social media guru.
3 – Article writing for others
If you have the skills to write content for your own blog, then you could branch out and offer freelancing writing services to businesses. You can use your own blog as a writing portfolio, and either set up a freelance website or use somewhere like People Per Hour to pitch your article writing services.
4 – Make money from your social media accounts
You might think that only the big names with hundreds of thousands of social media followers can make money, but the truth is that we can too! If you have developed a decent social media following then consider monetising your social media accounts with Buzzoole, SocialPubli and FameBit.
5 – Sell digital products
Have you created an awesome online income spreadsheet? Or are you a dab hand at making printables? Digital products can sell really well, especially if they are well made. You can set up the entire process to be automated, so once you have created your product(s) and set up the automated process, you can focus on advertising those products to your readers and continuing to create awesome content!
I hope that these five ideas have inspired you to think outside of the box when it comes to earning money from your blog! If you have any comments or suggestions then I would love to hear them!
