If you have found a way to make money from home, be that a full-time job that lets you work in your pyjamas or a side hustle that can boost your regular income, it’s important to stay energised to ensure you remain focused and motivated.
Staying energised can be difficult to do if you are feeling tired because of lack of sleep or because you haven’t taken the time to go outdoors for a little fresh air and exercise. You might also feel tired if you haven’t eaten the right foods during the day.
With this in mind, here are the things you need to do to ensure you remain energised during the day.
#1: Stick to a set sleep schedule
If you don’t need to commute to work, you might be tempted to sleep in if you can be flexible with your working day at home. However, this is the last thing you want to do as oversleeping can make you feel extra tired.
And if you don’t need to get up early in the morning, you might also be tempted to stay up into the early hours binge-watching a TV show or watching a movie, instead of going to bed at an acceptable time. Again, this could cause you to feel tired the next day, especially if you then decide to sleep in longer than you should.
So, don’t make these mistakes. 7-9 hours of sleep a night is recommended for optimum energy levels, so set a sleep schedule that accommodates this.
#2: Eat and drink for energy
Certain foods and drinks will sap your energy instead of boosting it, such as low-calorie microwave meals, fried foods, sugary snacks, and alcohol. Avoid these if you want to be productive and skip caffeinated drinks too as they will cause you to crash and burn later in the day, despite an initial energy boost.
Start your day with a high-protein breakfast as this will energise your mind and body and then eat a healthy and nutritious lunch to keep you going for the rest of the day.
Eat a piece of fruit and drink water if you do start to flag, and supplement your diet with CBD and Vitamin tablets if you need something extra to boost your energy levels.
#3: Take regular breaks
You might be resistant to taking breaks, especially if your money-making venture takes up a lot of your time. However, your energy levels will start to flag if you stay rooted in one spot for hours at a time so you will be less productive when you’re working.
As such, you should take a break every hour or so, even if it’s only for a few minutes. During your break time, do something that will give you an energy boost, such as stepping outside into the fresh air and going for a short walk. During your break, eat and drink something that will lift your energy and avoid sugary snacks and bags of crisps as these will sap your energy rather than replenish it.
Finally
If you feel tired during the day, it might be because your sleep schedule is messed up and your diet is unhealthy. It might also be that you’re working too hard without taking any breaks. So, consider the suggestions we have made in this post and act upon them to ensure you have enough energy to make it through the day without falling asleep when you should be working.
