We all have to deal with receipts in our lives but did you know that there are ways to make money from those receipts? Storewards is an app that will pay you for sending them photos of your receipts.
What is Storewards and how does it work?
We all get receipts, some of us hoard them just in case need to return something, some of us throw them away and a few will even refuse them at the till but usually just accept them out of politeness.
Storewards is the successor of the popular Receipt Hog app and it operates almost the same as Receipt Hog used to.
You will receive a fixed amount of in-app coins in exchange for uploading a photo of you receipt to Storewards. The process is simple, allow the app access to your phone camera, take a clear photo of the receipt via the app. You might need to take a couple of photos depending on how big the receipt is.
Once done just hit done and it will be uploaded to Storewards and they will give you a fixed amount of 600 coins once the receipt has been verified.
When you have reached the threshold then you can exchange the coins for either Amazon gift cards or get it as cash to your PayPal.
Bonuses to Storewards
Unfortunately you no longer have the fun things that Receipt Hog had such as the Hog Slots but there are extra ways to earn coins.
Each day you sign in (just opening the app) you will get some coins which builds up each and every day! It will reset after 5 days or if you miss a day.
Connecting your Amazon account with Amazon connect via the app will allow Storewards to give you coins for Amazon purchases without you having to do a thing! You will gain 2000 coins for doing so and as a bonus will get 1000 coins a month extra for staying connected.
There are levels in Storewards which you gain for using the app. Each time you level up you will be rewarded with some bonus coins
What receipts can I upload?
Storewards will accept nearly every kind of receipt that you will gain! Big chain stores, small independent stores and restaurants!
There a few rules they have though.

What are the Thresholds?
The most important question of all which I am sure that you are all asking, how much do I need to be paid!
Well thats simple here is a quick break down of the thresholds for you all:
Amazon e-gift card:
- 50,000 coins = £5
- 95,000 coins = £10
PayPal:
- 22.000 coins = £2
- 55,000 coins = £5
- 100,000 coins = £10
You should be paid within 7 days, though be sure to keep an eye on your emails just in case they have an issue.
What do Storewards do with your receipts?
I am sure that some of you are really curious on this. Why are Storewards willing to pay me in cash or Amazon gift cards?
The answer is quite simple.
They are a Market Research company that work with consumer goods brands.
Data collected from the receipts is used to create reports for brands to purchase from them so that those companies have an insight into the current markets and spending habits of people.
No personal info is sold, and everything is kept anonymous. It is only the spending data of people on a whole that is sold.
Is it worth it?
Honestly yes, yes it is.
It takes less than a few moments to snap and upload a receipt. And there are no questions unlike with Receipt Hog.
Your pot will grow very quickly. After all if you hit 35 receipt in one week that is 21,000 coins which is the lowest payout threshold they have.
At the end of the day it is extra money in your pocket that you didn't have before. And you do not have to use much time doing it.
Also there are other receipt apps like Shoppix so make the most of them by combining the receipt photo time to get more money.
