How to Price Your Vinted Items to Sell

What is Vinted?

Vinted is a marketplace for buying and selling unwanted items.

Vinted have these main aims:

Sell simply – make money by easily listing your preloved items – a great way to make money on your phone or to make money with your iPad.

Shop smarter – find new items from amazing brands that you love at a fraction of the RRP.

The Vinted app is available both on iOS and Android, and you can also use the website to list items for sale and buy items.

Why are prices on Vinted so low?

You might be wondering why prices on Vinted are so low, and there are a few reasons for that.

It’s a mixture of convenience, competition and a marketplace full of people trying to clear space. Some sellers aren’t bothered about profit, so they list incredibly cheaply, which shifts the overall perception of pricing on the app.

That doesn’t mean you need to match them. If your photos are strong and your item is in good condition, buyers will still pay a fair price.

Why Vinted pricing feels confusing

A big part of it is that prices on Vinted can look really low. People often wonder why Vinted prices seem cheaper than other platforms. It mostly comes down to how quick and convenient the app is. Buyers want a bargain, and sellers want things gone. That means the market moves fast, and low prices tend to dominate the feed.

For example, you might see three similar jumpers — one at £3, one at £10, and one at £18 — all from different sellers with different motivations.

There’s also something important to know: you can’t search for sold prices on Vinted like you can on eBay. On eBay, completed listings give you a very clear idea of market value. Vinted doesn’t offer that. Instead, when you list an item, Vinted sometimes suggests similar items and shows how much they sold for. But the app usually shows the lowest sold price first, so it isn’t always terribly accurate. Use it as a rough guide, not a rule for working out your pricing.

How to work out a realistic price for Vinted

There are a few ways that you can work our a realistic price for selling your items on Vinted.

Check active listings – Search for similar items and compare condition, size, brand and style. Don’t focus on the cheapest listings, as they may be older, damaged or simply not selling. Look at listings with likes or recent activity to get a sense of what buyers are genuinely interested in.

Factor in condition honestly – Items in very good or like-new condition can be priced higher. If something has wear or flaws, bring the price down slightly to reflect that.

Consider brand demand – Some brands are quick sellers at higher prices. Others only shift when priced low. If you’re dealing with high-demand labels, feel confident pricing fairly.

And if you want to keep track of your pricing patterns and see what sells best for you personally, my Vinted Sales Planner makes this incredibly easy.

Don’t forget that your photos on Vinted matter too!

Before You Start Pricing on Vinted

  • Make sure your photos are bright and clear
  • Add measurements
  • Mention flaws honestly
  • Choose at least one strong keyword in your title

Do Vinted prices include postage?

No, the prices on Vinted don’t include postage (although sometimes you can get free postage on Vinted). Buyers pay postage on top of your item price. You don’t need to include postage in the amount you set. Keep your item price based on value alone.

Should you start high or low with your Vinted prices?

Your Vinted pricing strategy will depend on how quickly you want rid of your items, but as a general rule I would suggest that you start your pricing slightly higher. This allows you to be able to accept or send offers without underpricing your items. Don’t know how to send offers on Vinted? Here’s my step by step tutorial to sending offers on Vinted.

Then you can drop your price slowly if needed. When you reduce your price, everyone who has liked that item will get a notification about the price drop, which reminds them that they’ve favourited your item and also create urgency and FOMO.

What to do if your item isn’t getting any likes

If you’ve listed something and it’s just sitting there with zero likes, don’t panic. It happens to all of us, and it doesn’t automatically mean the item won’t sell. Sometimes it just needs a tiny tweak to get it in front of the right buyer.

Refresh your cover photo – This is usually the quickest win. Swap in a brighter photo, change the angle or take the picture somewhere with better natural light. Your cover photo is what stops someone scrolling, so even a small improvement can make a big difference.

Add measurements – Buyers love details, especially when it comes to clothing. Adding measurements can instantly make your listing more helpful and trustworthy, and it often gives people the confidence to hit that like button.

Lower the price slightly – Even dropping the price by £1–£2 can kickstart engagement. Anyone who’s already viewed the listing might come back for another look, and new buyers may feel more tempted to like or buy. Little nudges work far better than big dramatic price drops.

Consider a gentle relist – If it’s been sitting untouched for a while, you can remove and relist it, but do this sparingly. Relisting can give your item a fresh spot in the feed, but overdoing it can look spammy and isn’t always necessary. Try the other tweaks first.

Most of the time, one or two of these small adjustments is all it takes. The Vinted algorithm loves active listings, and buyers love clear, helpful information — so give your item a quick refresh and you’ll often see likes start to trickle in.

How to avoid feeling pressured into lowering everything

One of the biggest mindset hurdles on Vinted is feeling like you have to accept every cheeky offer that lands in your inbox. You absolutely don’t. If an offer comes in that’s miles away from what you know your item is worth, decline it without a second thought. It isn’t rude and it isn’t ungrateful — it’s just part of selling on the app.

And if the offer isn’t too far off but still a bit low, send back a counter-offer that actually works for you. Loads of buyers will meet you in the middle if you give them the chance. The key thing to remember is that you’re not under any obligation to accept anything that doesn’t sit right. Vinted is built around negotiation, so people expect a bit of back-and-forth. You get to set your boundaries, and you get to decide what feels fair.

Tips for pricing on Vinted

  • Don’t copy the lowest listings
  • Give each item at least a week before adjusting the price
  • Use clear photos that justify your price
  • Include measurements to help buyers choose confidently
  • Stay consistent — a tidy, well-priced wardrobe encourages repeat buyers
  • Use seasonal demand to your advantage
  • Use bundle discounts with a small built-in saving to increase order value

Once you’ve nailed your pricing, the whole selling process becomes easier, quicker and far more profitable — and it really does snowball.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pricing on Vinted

Why are Vinted prices so low?

Because the app moves quickly and most people list things simply to clear space. Lots of sellers prioritise speed over profit, so their low prices pull the overall average down. That doesn’t mean you have to copy them — well-photographed, good-quality items still sell for fair prices.

Can you search sold prices on Vinted?

Not properly. Unlike eBay, there’s no option to search completed sales. Vinted sometimes shows suggested prices when you’re listing an item, but they usually show the lowest sold price first, which isn’t always helpful. Use those suggestions as a rough guide only.

Do Vinted prices include postage?

No. Buyers always pay postage separately unless Vinted is running a free postage promotion. Your item price should reflect the value of the item alone.

Should I start pricing high or low?

Starting a little higher usually works best. It gives you space to accept offers and run price drops without undervaluing your item from the start.

How long should I wait before lowering my prices on Vinted?

Give your listing around a week. If it has no likes or views after that, reduce the price by £1–£2 or refresh the photo to see if that boosts interest.

Why isn’t my item getting any likes?

It’s usually down to the photo, the title or the timing. Brighten your cover photo, add measurements, tweak your title or drop the price slightly. Most items get traction once they’ve had a refresh.

Should I accept every offer?

Absolutely not. Decline anything that feels too low and counter with a price you’re actually happy with. Buyers expect negotiation on Vinted, so don’t feel pressured.

Is relisting good for getting more views?

It can be, but use it sparingly. Start by improving your photo or adjusting your price. Relisting works best as an occasional boost rather than something you do every day.

How do I know if my price is fair?

Check active listings for similar items in similar condition, look at brand demand and trust your experience. Pricing becomes easier the more you list, and patterns start to jump out.
