Making money online is a great way to supplement your income from the comfort of your own home, but sometimes sitting at a desktop computer or using a laptop can feel a little too much like work. So can you make money with your iPad?
We are probably all guilty of aimlessly scrolling through our iPads and smartphones of an evening, so why not make that time count? It is so convenient when you can fit making money online around other things like watching TV, and that’s where an iPad comes into its own. Sometimes smartphones can be a little small or fiddly to use when doing some money making activities online, and that’s when the iPad can be the best option with its larger screen and portability. Here I have listed some ways that you can use your iPad to make some money, you can use any of these ideas to start making some money online right now – it’s never been easier to make some extra cash from the sofa.
Play games to make money with your ipad
This is my new favourite side hustle, and I've been paid as much as £120 for playing one game, as shown above.
Getting paid to play mobile games sounds like the dream, and for me it has been a really fun and lucrative side hustle over the past few months.
It is something that I really enjoy doing, especially as I love playing games on my smartphone.
Here's how it works:
These games don't pay out in the game, rather you sign up to an earning platform such as Swagbucks and they reward you for completing certain milestones in game.
These milestones vary – some will pay you for reaching a high level and others will pay in tiers, earning you more rewards as you progress up the levels.
If you want to start playing games to earn cash then the first website that we suggest that you sign up to is Swagbucks. We also really love InboxPounds, and when choosing which platform to complete the offer through, we choose the one that pays out the most.
Other platforms we love include FreeCash and RewardXP.
Get paid to browse the internet
The larger screen on the iPad makes it the perfect tool for browsing the internet, so why not get paid to do so? You can do website testing with companies such as UserTesting where you are paid to complete a series of functions whilst speaking your thoughts out loud. You can also test out webpages for companies and give your feedback with Enroll.
You can take things a step further with apps such as MobileXpression (for iPad) where you anonymously share your browsing data with this app. You are guaranteed to earn rewards such as cash, gift vouchers or merchandise in exchange for your browsing data. Once you have had the app downloaded for a week, you can enter a rewards game with big prizes up for grabs such as electronics and vouchers.
There are many apps that will reward you for sharing your browsing information with them, but make sure that you always check to see what the terms are when downloading apps that are collecting your data to ensure you are comfortable with sharing your information in this way.
Matched Betting
Matched Betting is one of my favourite side hustles, where I made £12,000 tax free in my first 12 months and this is a great way to make money through your iPad.
Matched betting is a way to make some serious guaranteed profit by utilising the free bet offers that bookmakers offer. It has turned into one of my favourite side hustles because it is tax free and risk free! Even The Guardian have written about matched betting. It is really easy to do matched betting with an iPad.

Online surveys
Another bonus of the larger screen on an iPad is that it is so much easier to complete surveys than on your phone- no more accidentally hitting the wrong tick box with your finger 3 times! Online surveys can get a bad rep, but if you complete them whilst you are enjoying some downtime, there is no reason why those points can’t start to add up and turn into cash.
Watch videos for money
That’s right, you can get paid to watch videos. Sign up to InboxPounds and you can play videos for cash– topics cover everything from cooking, to news, to entertainment.
As long as you are connected to WiFi, you can play videos without it disrupting you, for most videos you can simply put them on mute and go about your day. You don’t need to actually watch the entirety of the video yourself to get paid (unless you want to of course!).
Always have a cashback website open in your browser
iPads make online shopping so much easier, and often, I will make online purchases on my iPad from the sofa. Ensure that you always have a cashback website open in your browser like Topcashback, Quidco, Rakuten, and Widilo as a reminder when you make a purchase. This way, whenever you make an online purchase, you will hopefully get some money back on things that you were already buying anyway. If you wait until the end of the year to redeem all the cash in your account, you will be sure to have a nice little sum there to help with the cost of Christmas.
Review music to make money with your ipad
So this one is probably not best suited to when you are watching TV- and definitely not when you’re significant other is trying to watch their favourite show! However, for any music buffs it’s the perfect way to earn some extra cash from listening to segments of music and reviewing it. Of course, you can try promoting your music on platforms on Spotify and try to earn that way if you're that much into music. You can even purchase Soundcloud plays to boost your account, as Earthweb suggests, but there is also an option for those who are not as musical but still want to make money of it. With companies such as Slice the Pie, you can get paid for giving your opinion on adverts, songs and jingles which is then used as feedback for the company or individual, you can sign up now here. Music Xray is another site where you can sign up and get paid to listen to new music and give your feedback- Music Xray is used to gauge whether new artists are likely to have commercial success.
