get paid to shop online

Do you find yourself worrying about where the cash is coming from to pay for things? How would you like to earn a little bit of cash whilst you shop? Let's have a look at how to get paid to shop online.

Use cashback sites

One of the best ways to get paid to shop online is to use cashback sites. You have probably seen the likes of Quidco, Top Cashback and Jamdoughnut advertised online and on TV. Rather than going directly to the retailer you want to buy from, you simply add a step into your journey. Go to the cashback site, search for the retailer and then click through. Then buy what you want as normal. Your purchase will track in your cashback account and you'll earn money. It could be a percentage of what you spend or a flat fee for shopping with that retailer. You'll find all sorts of retailers on there, from fashion brands to insurance companies. This is a great way to make £300+ each year.

Online mystery shopping

Traditionally, mystery shopping is done in person. You go to a certain retailer and have a mission to complete. There are also tasks like this to do online. Sign up with companies offering these opportunities and you might be able to earn up to £25+ for each task. You'll likely have to explore a website, make notes and then fill in a report at the end. If you have to buy anything that is usually reimbursed on top of your payment. You might even be able to use your shopping experience to get market research tasks. If you sign up with market research companies, they often send out emails asking for participants to meet specific criteria. This could be people who shop at Sainsburys who are between the age of 25 and 40. You might be able to earn £100+ for a 90-minute Zoom interview delving into your experience.

Shop for others

This is a little bit like a virtual assistant role. Did you know that people will pay you to sort out their shopping for them? This could be individuals who simply don't have the time to do it or those who don't have the knowledge or skills to shop online. Organise food deliveries so a business person has a stocked fridge, you might have to put this on their calendar so they are in to receive the delivery. In a time where grocery shopping is more convenient than browsing the aisles yourself, older generations and perhaps those with mobility issues might find it easier to have shopping delivered. You could find some local people who need this service and charge a little something on top for your time. Maybe you could simply teach people how to do it and charge for that lesson. Giving them knowledge, skill and the ability to have that independence whilst shopping online.

Pay with a card that gives you rewards

If you want to get paid to shop online, look at how you are spending your money. If you are simply using a standard debit card, you are potentially missing out on earning. Find an account that pays you to spend. There are cards that will give you 1%+ cashback on anything you spend for a certain amount of time. This could be 3 months or perhaps for a whole year. This means you can earn some money back by swapping what card you spend on. It might be transferring cash from one account to another but if you are spending £1000 a month, that's £10 in rewards. That's money in your pocket that you can use to help pay the bills or treat yourself.
