Wow, can you believe that Christmas is so close? This year I am in full on panic mode and have worked myself into a bit of a tizz because I am now having my large ovarian cyst removed on 26th November and could need anything from 6 – 12 weeks off to recover. However I am starting to get excited at the prospect of having lots of time off over the festive season. Christmas will definitely look different for us this year even before the surgery was confirmed, so I am trying to look at the positives. This means lots of Hallmark Christmas movies, lots of hot chocolate and reading a ton of books. I definitely own way too many books but I can't stop myself when I spy one in a charity shop! I will definitely miss being out and about in the run up to Christmas – we were actually hoping to fit in a festive visit to New York but it just isn't to be for 2021. Having to be at home so much during the coming weeks and perhaps even months means that I am really keen to get the house looking great for my recovery time. Thankfully we have been decluttering for ages with weekly trips to drop off donations at the charity shop, as well as working on home projects. I recently got very excited about buying and putting up some new curtains in the living room. I also absolutely want to get our Christmas tree up before my operation, although with my massive to do list that is looking impossible!
