Have you always thought about having a second income stream? Maybe you love your job but would like to scale back or swap careers at some point. Perhaps that career change would mean a drop in salary? If you have a second income stream in place, you can lean on that whilst you organise the income from your job. One of the best ways to create a second income stream is with a website. Let's have a look at how to do it and how much you could earn.

Set Up A Site

You have a couple of options when you want to create a website. You could start from scratch or purchase an existing website. If you start from scratch, which is more affordable, you'll need to find a web address that you are happy with, purchase it and then set up a website with a web hosting company. You'll need to populate your website with content that people want to read. Find ways to bring an audience to your articles, maybe via social media and mailing lists. You can find lots of marketing and SEO tips online which will help you too.

Build up a website that is successful, that has a lot of traffic going to it and has good stats and you can get paid to host content on it. This will include links that your client wants and content that you will either have to write yourself or that they will send. You can choose how much to charge for this but it can be a fairly easy and quick job for a decent chunk of money.

Earn While You Sleep

When you have a website that people are visiting, you can literally earn money while you sleep. The adverts on your website which show we people visit will earn you revenue. The affiliate banners on the homepage and links in your content will earn you cash when they are clicked. This means that you could be on holiday, driving to see friends or even sunbathing on a beach and still making money.

Sell It At A Profit

Maybe you are exploring the creation of a website for just a short amount of time. Maybe for a couple of years. The time and effort you put into this creation is worth something and if you ever decide to sell your website, you need to be paid for that time. This could be something you do over and over again. Enjoying the setting up and building of a website from scratch, before selling it onto someone for a profit. There are people who do this and make a living. It could easily become a second source of income for you.

It will take some time in the beginning to set up a website, fill it with content and build up your statistics, but it can be worth it in the long run. Use the time you have now and you could be earning whilst you're relaxing later down the line.
