The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a new normal for many people when it comes to working environments. Busy offices were emptied overnight and the majority of people were told to work from home. This shift in working norms led many people to question their preferences when it comes to traveling to the office everyday vs setting up in a home office (or, in some cases, placing the laptop on the dining room table). Many couldn’t wait to get back to the office but there was also a large percentage of those that preferred to ditch the office and work remotely. If this sounds more like your vibe and you’d like to learn tips for home based jobs that will help you find a way to make money from home, the following are some of the best career options.

Customer Service

Customer service is a good option for those that want to be their own boss as it allows candidates to work independently and set their own hours, which can be a great perk for those that want more flexibility in their lives. Additionally, working from home in customer service can help you build strong relationships with customers and learn more about the products or services that you are representing. Before you accept a position in this industry, be sure to ask questions about expected working hours and what kind of support you’ll be giving.

Data Entry

There are many reasons why data entry is a good option for those that want to work from home. One reason is that it does not require much training or experience to get started. It is relatively low-stress compared to other jobs, and it can be done at your own pace. Finally, you will not have to invest a lot of time or money to become very good and get paid well.

Web Developer

Like the sound of being a web developer? This position demands a high level of skill so skip to the next point if you don’t like the idea of going to college to get a degree. If you are prepared to put the time and effort into getting qualified, you will be rewarded with a high salary and the flexibility to work from anywhere in the world (all you’ll need is an internet connection). If you’d like to go to college but you don’t have the funds upfront, there are scholarships for college students that you may be eligible for so don’t put down the idea without doing some research first. Once you graduate, you’ll never be out of work and you’ll be able to demand a higher salary as your experience level grows with each project that you complete.

Social Media Manager

This is a great option if you have a way with words. The benefits of being a social media manager include having the ability to reach a large audience without having to be in the same place as them. With social media, your office will be open 24/7, so you can work when it’s convenient for you and take breaks when you need to.

SEO Specialist

As the world of online marketing continues to evolve, so do the job titles within the industry. Introducing the world of SEO. Being an SEO specialist involves helping companies improve their organic search engine rankings (i.e., helping a website to show up number one in Google for specific search terms). This can be done through optimizing website content, adding relevant keywords, improving site architecture and building off-site backlinks. A good SEO specialist will have a solid understanding of Google Analytics and other tracking tools in order to measure results and ROI. Successful candidates don’t need a college degree to be good at SEO but some form of training is always a plus. Again, this is a position that offers a lot of flexibility in terms of location and working hours.

Graphic Designer

There are a few things to keep in mind if you want to be successful working from home as a graphic designer. First, you need to build a strong network of other designers and professionals who can offer advice and feedback on your work. Second, you need to think about where your workload will come from. Would you like to go freelance and have clients from all over the world? Or would you like to work for one company and be their dedicated guy/gal and receive a set wage?
