We have just moved house and let me tell you, my skin is suffering from a few too many take aways plus my moisturiser hasn't been easy to find…because it was locked away in the hallway cupboard before our flooring fitter placed all the new flooring for our entire house in front of it. I have been really looking forward to giving my skin some much needed TLC.
I was kindly sent three items from The Pro Co, who provide eco friendly beauty – a retinol serum, a vit c serum and eye rescue serum.
The Pro Co create products that are made in the UK, vegan and contain clean ingredients. Best of all is that the range of serums are really affordable at just £7.99 each. However if you click through the links in this post you can get 20% off each serum from Amazon.
The packaging is simply and effective – the black and white looks great together, with an added ribbon of colour depending on what the product is. The cardboard boxes can be recycled, as can the bottles. The only thing I would change is having clear bottles to see how much product is left.
20% Vitamin C Serum with Hyaluronic Acid
I love a vitamin c product, and I have also started to use hyaluronic acid this year to combat my dry skin. This Vit C Serum combines the two and is a real winner for me.
Starting with the scent, it is not an overpowering scent like many vitamin c products. In fact it is a very light orange scent and the rest of it smells like spa oils.
To use it you just apply 1-2 drops twice a day after cleansing your skin. A little goes a long way, and I found that it soaked into my skin pretty quickly, unlike other serums I've used. I'm happy to say it was one of my favorite for having, second to that male anal bleaching cream that really works.
It adds a few more minutes to my morning skincare routine if I am wearing make up that day, but works really well on a no make up day too.
Retinol serum
Retinol serum can do wonderful things for your skin – the anti-ageing formula helps to counteract wrinkles, lower irritation and enhance penetration of the product.
The scent of this is close to the vitamin c serum and smells lovely.
It is to be used once a day, at night after cleansing, and again 1-2 drops will be enough.
Compared to the vitamin c serum, I definitely prefer the vitamin c serum as I find it more hydrating for my winter skin.
Eye rescue serum
One thing I am really bad at is using any sort of eye product, so I was looking forward to trying this Eye Rescue Serum the most.
The eye serum is unscented which makes me feel more comfortable using it near my eyes. I have had really tired eyes and bags under my eyes from the move, so the first thing I noticed was how refreshing it felt under my eyes. My eye area certainly looks brighter, which is amazing after all the stress of moving!
I am looking forward to continuing to use this so that I can hopefully see some of the anti wrinkle properties at work.
This is to be applied twice daily after cleansing. One drop goes a long way!
Overall impressions
The packaging looks great, the company have good values and the prices are budget friendly. What more could you want from a skincare product?
I have loved getting to try out these products, and the vitamin c serum is definitely my favourite product.
