Weddings, as I'm sure you already know, are a multi-million-pound industry! Of course, what that means is throwing one on a budget can be something of a challenge. Especially with all the pressure to have an original and authentic day! Happily, there are some ways that you can make your nuptials more special, and personalised and they don't have to leave your wallet empty either. Keep reading to find out what they are.

Personalised clothing and shoes

One of the most fun ways to personalise your wedding is to include some custom clothing or shoes. In fact, there are several ways of doing this. The first being investing in some stick-on letters and applying them to the bottom of the shoes you will wear during the service. In fact, many brides do this with the words ‘I do' and some grooms get cheeky with a message of ‘help' or ‘rescue me' instead.

Happily, such letters can be bought cheaply online or in your local craft shop, so this can definitely be done without breaking the bank.

Another charming way to add some personal touches to your wedding is to get Bridal Robes for when you are getting ready. You can even get ones that can be personalised with your married name-to-be on them. In fact, if you dig around a little, you will find that such items can be got on sale for an excellent discount, something that means you won't have to empty your wallet to get them for your wedding.

DIY your flowers

Flowers are a crucial part of any wedding and are something that can easily be chosen to reflect the couples' theme and tastes. Of course, professionally arranged flowers can cost a small fortune, with some running into the £1000s for just the bouquets for the ceremony, let alone the centerpiece needed for the reception.

Fortunately, there's a way to have exactly what you want and not break the bank at the same time as well. It's to DIY your own flowers. In fact, you have two options here. The first being to get real flowers from a wholesaler and then arrange them yourself on the evening before the wedding.

Alternatively, you can do what I did and use silk flowers to create your bouquets instead. In fact, many brides prefer this because they can be made up well before the big day, and they will last indefinitely afterward, as well. Something that means you can hold on to them as a keepsake.

Collage guest book

Finally, one of the most unique ways to personalise your wedding is to have a guest book that is a little out of the ordinary. In fact, you can buy many different types online, including jigsaw puzzles, fingerprints, and some even use instant photos.

However, all of these options can be expensive, and that is why you should consider doing a collage version instead. In fact, all you need to do is cut out some shapes from colored paper and provide a few pens, and your guests will do the rest. Then collect them up in a bowl or vase, and you can stick them into a guest book after the wedding for a beautiful keepsake, without having to pay out through the nose!
