We all know that sleep is an essential when it comes to living a healthy and happy life, but what can you do when you are not able to sleep properly? Earlier this year I teamed up with The Restored to bring you some top tips for getting enough sleep, and I have recently been trying out The Restored Advanced Sleep Aid which I am keen to share with you.

There are a lot of reasons why we don't sleep well, from daily stress, working too late and many more.

A lack of sleep can lead to many health and wellbeing issues, from feeling grumpy the following day to longer term issues such as heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes.

The Restored Advanced Sleep Aid

The Restored Advanced Sleep Aid is a 100% natural sleep supplement that contains whole food and plant extracts. The ingredients are gluten free, gmo free and vegan.

It is important to remember that this is a sleep supplement, not a sedative, and results take 2 – 3 weeks before you will notice an improvement. You start the first three nights with just one tablet 30 minutes before going to sleep, increasing it to two tablets on the fourth night to allow your budget to adjust. After about 10 nights of taking these and adopting better sleep habits I found that I was sleeping better.

Following on from my last post, I tried out these tips in conjunction with the supplements to help me to sleep better.

I started off by going through my apps and turning off notifications. I receive a lot of Instagram messages throughout the day and night, so that was an easy decision. I also turned off email notifications, Facebook and Twitter notifications. I tried to stop using my phone 45 minutes before bed, but I found it was easier to have a sleep routine 30 minutes before bed time, by taking my supplements and putting my phone down. Instead I read a book or chatted to my husband before bed.

Go to sleep and get up at the same time every day

This one was really easy for me – I am a creature of habit and love being in bed by 10pm. As the nights are getting darker and the chapel is so cold I found it easy to get into bed earlier, put down my phone and take the supplements. I have been letting my body clock wake me up naturally which has been around 7.30 every morning.

Take a hot shower or bath 30 minutes before bed

I swapped this one for going in the hot tub about an hour before bed. 30 minutes in the warm hot tub, then coming inside to do my night time routine has been working really well. Now that the evenings are much darker and the hot tub will be packed away soon, I will probably start with a shower or bath soon.

All in all, I am sleeping better, and really enjoying these 100% natural supplements to help me to get a good night's sleep.
