Your wedding day can be one of the most expensive days of your life – it takes a lot of planning, and a big budget, to set up a dream wedding you’ve always wanted! And yet, there’s still quite a few ways to run a budget wedding, that can be just as enjoyable as those celebrity types we see on the television.

And with that in mind, here’s just a few tips for saving a few pennies here and there; put these in a jar and save them for something big a few months of years from now. Hey, maybe you could even afford a second honeymoon by collecting your starting funds here!

Be Lax About the Dress Code

Budgeting for your wedding outfits can be the most expensive part of the whole ordeal – a white wedding dress, that looks flouncy and made out of sheer lace, can cost upwards of £5000. That’s definitely not a price tag to sneeze it, and it’s a lot more than most of us can afford.

So, instead of taking out a loan for your wedding day, why not dial back a little on the dress code? Of course, formal attire is still required, but let your guests dress up in a specific colour shade, rather than in specific outfit styles and price tags.

Limit Your Menu

The catering for your wedding can be very costly, considering the amount of food you’re going to have to prepare. After all, everyone has their own tastes, and some of your guests may have food intolerances, and these must be accommodated for.

But you can still limit your menu options a little. You can offer only one or two choices, rather than three or four. You can have you guests tell you their eating habits when they RSVP, so you know the exact number of gluten or lactose free meals you need to provide. Or maybe take a vote, and the most popular set menu wins! Either way, your menu can still be delicious, and you don’t have to offer the world for lunch!

Don’t Hire a Photographer

The wedding photographer can be a very pricey addition to your big day – it’s the best day of your life, and you want to remember it in clear, HD detail, so of course that’s going to cost you! But when you think about it, a professional photographer charges for the skills they bring to the table, rather than just the price of the photos themselves.

And that’s why it might be cheaper for you to look into Photo Booth Hire. You still get quality pictures out of the day, but now you have a booth to sit in, rather than a talented human being behind the camera. This way you can workshop your poses on your own, and take as many photos as you feel is necessary, without potentially incurring a further charge.

Your wedding will be the best day of your life. Let’s make sure it doesn’t bankrupt you!
