If you are fed up with the price of taxis worldwide then you might want to consider using the Uber app.

Upon registration you will submit your payment details, and when you want to request a ride you simply open up the app and request a local driver. You will be shown an estimate of the fare and only once your trip is complete will your payment card be debited. This means that you don’t have to hand over cash.

Uber is committed to connecting you to a safe ride at a reasonable cost. They go above and beyond the local taxi licensing rules to ensure that your security is paramount. Each Uber driver has been background checked and is regularly screened during their time as an Uber driver. Your journey is also covered with comprehensive insurance, so you can rest assured that you are covered.

After your ride you will be able to leave anonymous feedback about your driver. If your driver scores badly then they will be taken off shift with Uber.

Where to use Uber

Uber is currently only available in the United Kingdom in the following cities:

Birmingham, Leeds, London, Newcastle & Manchester.

Using Uber abroad

Uber is a fantastic tool when you are travelling abroad. We will be mostly using it in Florida. For example, a local taxi company quoted us over $80 each way for a trip that Uber has estimated to cost between $11-18 – a massive saving!

There is no requirement to tip Uber drivers, although that is of course up to you.

Get your first ride free – up to £20!

For a limited time, if you sign up to Uber you will get £20 credited to your account for free. This can be used against your first Uber ride, making your journey free!
