The CBD industry is now a multi-billion pound industry and over 50% of CBD users are women. With a plethora of products geared specifically towards women, it makes sense that the people behind these products are women themselves, right? Although only 27% of executives in the CBD industry are female, that number continues to grow as more women are encouraged to get in on the action thanks to those who have come before them. So, let’s meet some of the badass ladies who are already making waves in the CBD industry and are uplifting others to do so as well.

Bianca Monica, Founder of Limone Creative & Women in CBD

Monica is the founder and CEO of Limone Creative, a digital marketing agency that also provides CBD consulting, and founded the Women in CBD event that unites the leading women in the industry. The Women in CBD event was so successful that Monica was able to take it beyond Los Angeles and has now held events in New York and Canada. Monica hopes that the event will help normalize the use of CBD across all communities and brings light to many of the social issues the industry faces.

Cara Robinson & Sarah Tilbury, Founder of Elevate

These two best friends co-founded the CBD organic CBD E-Liquid brand, Vape Elevate, as an effort to help mitigate her mother’s anxiety. The pair are now working on a CBD-infused raw honey product, which is farmed on Robinson’s own property in partnership with a professional beekeeper and next they will be launching cooking oils and apple cider vinegar. Today, the Elevate group of companies are not just dominating the UK CBD industry but also are competitive across Europe and the USA too.

Kimberly Dillon, Founder of Plant & Prosper & Frigg Wellness

Dillon is a seasoned marketing professional and no stranger to the CBD industry. After years of marketing high-profile corporate clients (e.g. Proctor & Gamble, Clorox, etc.), Dillon entered the CBD wellness space as the CMO of Papa & Barkley. Soon after finally finding her niche, she went on to found not one, but two hemp-related businesses: Plant & Prosper, a consulting firm specializing in the hemp industry, and Frigg Wellness, her very own CBD wellness brand. Dillon is also a huge advocate for inviting more women, especially women of colour, into the CBD industry.

Alex Capano, Doctor of Cannabinoid & CSO of Ecofibre Limited

Capano began her career as a nurse practitioner, but always showed interest in the medicinal values of CBD. She eventually returned to school to achieve a doctorate in medical CBD science, becoming the first person in the United States to do so. Now, putting all those years of research to good use, she holds the position of Chief Science Officer at Ecofibre Limited, a biotechnology company paving the way for new hemp products. Capano is dedicated to destigmatizing the use of CBD for medicinal purposes.
