Make money outside of work

Do you love your job? That's brilliant. It's important to love what we spend a third of every day doing. Sometimes though, it simply doesn't fill what we need it to financially. For those of us who are struggling to make ends meet, there is an idea though. How would you like to make money outside of work? If the answer is yes, we've got some great ideas for you. Let's run through them and hopefully you'll be able to start the ball rolling on a couple of them.

Take In A Lodger

One of the easiest ways to make money outside of work is to take in a lodger. If you have a spare room, maybe with just a guest bed and a couple of boxes in it, this is prime real estate for making cash. There are people out there looking for rooms to rent and even better if you are near decent transport links or places of work. You might not see yourself as the landlord type and you might not fancy sharing the bathroom. However, when you look at the average room rental in the UK (excluding inner London) being £587 per calendar month, that's money not to be sniffed at. That could help you clear your debt, pay off those outstanding bills or even pay your mortgage every month!

Rent Out Your Drive

Do you live near somewhere where it's always a hassle to park? If you have a space on your drive, you could rent that out for between £5 and £10 a day. That could be £50+ a week! This is ideal if you live near a hospital as you could get the same person, maybe a health professional, using your drive daily. You could be near an office block, a football stadium or a college and get an income for simply renting out your car parking space.

Sell Your Skills

Next on our list of make money outside of work is selling your skills. Do you have skills that people want? Maybe you can create websites, are a fantastic copywriter or are really into video making and editing? With more people needing assistance with their own projects and businesses, hiring someone on a freelance or one off basis is much more affordable than employing someone full or part time. You could get regular clients or one off projects. Furthermore, the money you make will be decent as you can pick and choose the work you want and set your own rates.

Start A Side Hustle

Have you always wanted to be the master of your own destiny? How about starting a side hustle selling products that you make yourself? Perhaps you have fantastic graphic design skills and could offer logos for start up businesses. Maybe you're brilliant behind a camera and could sell family photo sessions in the local park? How about starting a YouTube channel?

You don't even have to be that creative to make money outside of work. There are opportunities everywhere and you could consider going down the age old route of selling for an established business. The one that always comes to mind is Avon, however there are other businesses using the similar model such as Tropic and Ann Summers. If you are good with social media, talking to people and selling, these opportunities could be for you. Start a side hustle today!
