Both Tony and I realize that if we don't look after each other, both romantically and health wise that one or both of us might need to use something like Silver-dating.com in the future. We are both also very frugal on how much we are willing to pay for a nice romantic date, so I thought that it would be great idea to share these Frugal dates for married couples ideas for you all.

Cook together

Doing the cooking yourselves rather than a night out might sound like a chore but when you do it together it turns into a nice romantic situation.

You can cook nearly anything together from a spaghetti bolognese, maybe recreate the Lady and the Tramp scene, to a 3 course meal using prawns, steak and eton mess.

The setup can be as romantic as you wish as well. Dress up or relaxing clothes. Candlelit diner at the table to a film on TV and meals on laps. As long as doing it all together in a way you both enjoy.

Cheap meal out

Now cooking together can be romantic but a meal out truly captures the date essence. It doesn't have to be expensive either.

There are multiple ways that you can have or get a cheaper meal out.

There are several pub chains that serve really good food and at a cheap price, Hungry Horse and Wetherspoons come to mind most here, but they will also do different daily offers as well.

Nearly every restaurant now will also do lunch time menus and deals that can drastically reduce the price of the meal out.

Cinema Day

A night out at the cinema can sometimes be an expensive thing, there are someways to make it cheaper though.

One way is to make all the snacks and drinks yourselves at home and take them in. As long as it is not cooked food or alcohol you can take your own food or drink, just double check at your local for specific rules. Make use of deals and offers like Meerkat Movies if you are able.

Another way to do it is in the comfort of your own home. You won't have the latest movies but you surely will have your favourites. Close the curtains, move furniture around to get the best comfy cinema feel, making your own popcorn and drinks.

Go for a walk

Now if you live in the countryside you have an advantage here, but even if you don't maybe take a drive out together to walk somewhere.

Explore your local village or other scenic location nearby, as long as you are doing it together. It can be a nice change of place especially if you both have quite busy lives or both often have to be in front of a screen for work, so breaking up that screen time for something relaxing is brilliant. It is also really healthy, and if you need to use a senior dating site later in life this activity will keep you healthy.

You could even do a bike ride but you can't really talk or hold hands then.

Game night

Why not play card or board games together as a fun and different little night in?

You can have great fun challenging and trying to beat each other with any of these kinda of games. Why not try games like Exploding kittens or Unstable Unicorns for some wacky fun too of trying to blow up your opponent or collecting more unicorns than them.
