People Per Hour may not be the biggest earner ever, however it’s always worth a check in every few days, to apply for some jobs. There are two possible ways to earn money here. The first is to post “hourlies”, these are jobs you can complete with your skill set, which could be anything, like writing a blog, or controlling and creating social media accounts. The second is where you send proposals on jobs other have posted.
Hourlies
Hourlies are the jobs you post – these can be very generic things, like making a Facebook fan page, making a logo or writing some articles. You include information about yourself which is relevant, set a price, then publish your hourly. Members can search for the jobs they need completing and browse through hourlies, purchasing which one they need.
Proposals
Companies and individuals will post jobs they need completing. These can be a wide array of things like your hourlies and can be commenting on other blogs to recording audio books. You have the ability to search for phrases and jobs, then easily apply for one that suits you. If you are interested in applying for a specific job, you can put a proposal together, including your fee. Sending a proposal will cost you a proposal credit, although these can be attained by the People Per Hour Facebook page, where they periodically give them away.
It isn’t always about having the cheapest proposal, but having great feedback helps as well. Great work examples never hurt to win you those proposals either.
Fees
People Per Hour have two payment tiers. They will charge 15% + VAT of the selling price until you start to earn £175 a month, then anything over that £175 will be charged at 3.5%.
Tips
In order to get some good feedback, and keep customers coming to you, here are a few things to bear in mind.
- Don’t overburden yourself with more work than you can handle at once – If you become overwhelmed, the work you complete won’t be to your highest standard, or worse, you don’t complete it on time, meaning you can earn negative feedback
- Offer a selection of hourlies, and mix it up a bit. Can you write an article and fix an Excel problem? Write an hourly stating exactly what you can do, and price it. Make sure to use some great images alongside them!
- Don’t be disheartened if you aren’t accepted, there are always plenty of jobs out there, and a lot of competition, but you will find perfect jobs for you.
