However long your lunch break is, you're bound to want this time to make some extra cash. Whether it be while still in the workplace or out and about for lunch and mystery shopping, there are many ways to make use of that time! Here are 10 ways to make money in your lunch break.
Being paid to shop would be a dream come true for many, and mystery shopping can provide not only brilliant freebies but also great experiences. You could get your lunch for free, earn cash for making a simple phone call or even try on new clothes as ways to earn some serious cash. If you're interested, you can find more details in this guide to getting started with mystery shopping.
You should be able to complete 1-3 surveys during your lunch break, earning you anything from £1 or even more. Money earned can generally be redeemed as cash or gift vouchers for supermarkets, high street stores and even Amazon. This site has plenty of reviews on survey websites, so just have a scroll and see how many take your fancy!
Paid To Click websites
Paid To Click (PTC) websites allow users to earn cash for short tasks, completing surveys, starting trials (remember to cancel them if you don't want to continue afterwards), downloading apps and many more. Some of my favourite PTC sites include:
- Instagc: where the threshold is only £1
- Swagbucks: where £15 worth of Amazon vouchers is easily made each month minimum
Smart phone apps
There are smart phone apps for everything these days and ones for making extra money are no exceptions! You can earn cash or gift cards by downloading, testing and reviewing apps, completing short location based mystery shopping jobs or answering surveys in the comfort of your own home. Some good apps are Field Agent, Streetspotr, Spare 5 and VoxPopMe.
Test Websites to make money in your lunch break
WhatUsersDo and uTest both pay handsomely for testing out new websites. WhatUsersDo just ask you for your thoughts – speak them aloud as you load their website. It's that simple! uTest looking more for problems, so ask for you to report bugs etc. WhatUsersDo pay £5 per test and they take just 20 minutes to complete.
“You've got to be in it to win it,” as they say! Entering competitions is a simple and easy hobby to take up. Expect to enter a lot before you win anything, but keep at it because you never know what you may win. It could also help save you money as you could win toys or books or even get free holidays, what's not to love?
Sell your skills
Can you write comments on 10 different blogs? Create a logo? Move someone's website from Blogger to WordPress? Whatever your skills, there are people out there who are willing to pay you in exchange for something of high quality. You can start off selling your “gigs” on Fiverr or People Per Hour.
Set up a blog
You certainly won't get rich overnight, or even start earning straight away, but starting a blog (especially a niche blog) could lead to plenty of earning opportunities in future. You can advertise Amazon items for an affiliate program, make money from display adverts, be sent free products or get sponsored posts. Bonjour Blogger has lots of information to help you get started.
Do your errands
Doing tasks that are on your to-do list can also be a good way to spend your lunch break. Even if it's not something that directly makes you money, such as eBay listing, it's still out of the way! Alternatively, you could also maybe do your online grocery shop (don't forget your Quidco, Cashbackshopper or Topcashback cashback). Lots to think about!
